Following initial communication on 18th March, the Home Office on 20th March published guidance for Tier 2 sponsors employing migrants - subject to review. In a welcome step the Home Office confirmed ‘no enforcement action’ will be taken against employers in relation to coronavirus issues.
Tier 2 sponsors are not required to report a change of circumstances through the sponsor management system for employees sponsored under Tier 2 who work from home due to coronavirus.
Also, no reporting is required for employees who are ill, self-isolating or are unable to travel due to coronavirus related travel disruption.
Reporting must be done where an employee is absent from work without pay for a period of 4 weeks.
All other changes must be reported as normal.
