Appointments for immigration biometric appointments

In a welcome move, Sopra Steria - the UKVI’s partner for processing biometrics for immigration applications submitted within the UK, will be making more free appointments available from November. There have been well documented issues for migrants booking appointments and cases where they have had to pay a premium amount – up to £260 - for those with dependents it has meant paying the premium amount for each dependent and therefore added up to staggering amounts.

Also, free appointments will be available at all Sopra Steria locations apart from premium lounges. Free appointments were generally only available in city locations, which meant people have often had to travel long distances and, in some cases, staying at hotels has not been unheard of.

Finally, our representative body has advised there will be one flat fee of £125 inclusive of VAT, for chargeable appointments.
